Rachelle Gebler is my Facebook friend and we have met briefly at a Kid’s Club event. I think I am a reasonably good judge of characters, I know this time many will agree with me: she’s one of the kindest and most generous #PeopleOfTarrytown

“I moved to Sleepy Hollow 12 years ago with my husband and two sons. Since we didn’t have any family in the area and my sons were just starting school, I felt the best way to get to know people and find out more about the community would be to volunteer in my sons’ classrooms. It’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. From there I moved to getting involved with the PTA where I met so many wonderful people and learned about the great things happening in our schools. I then joined a group called Kids’ Club which provides funding for programs catering to underserved children and their families. I also became a part of the group that opened the Community Food Pantry of Sleepy Hollow & Tarrytown which not only showed me the great need some of our neighbors live in, but also the generosity and compassion of those in our community who come to their aid through donations of both food and funding. And this past March I became a trustee in Sleepy Hollow which has been  more rewarding than I could have imagined. The many people I have met through all of these activities have shown me what a special place we live in and I feel so fortunate to have been able to raise my sons in such a diverse community and in a community that so obviously cares about its members.” Rachelle Gebler.
