Inventory of available homes for sale rose again last month, setting yet another multi-year high in both Marin and Sonoma Counties.

This mirrors a trend that’s being seen across the nation right now. It’s been a very long time since buyers had so much choice, removing one of the key purchasing objections in recent years.

We are also seeing healthy month-on-month increases in both sold and pending sales in both counties, reinforcing just how healthy the market is as we head towards the mid-summer peak season.

Average selling prices improved in May, following a bit of a dip as inventory expanded in April. This was also an improvement on the same period last year.

These key indicators strongly suggest that buyer sentiment is rising as a result of greater choice.
