LATEST MARKET DATA – SONOMA COUNTY – MAY 2024
It’s really nice to be able to report that both the Marin and Sonoma County real estate markets are in good shape as we head into summer.
Every key metric last month showed an uptick on May last year:
Marin County
- Inventory was up by 37.8%
- Sales were up by 4.8%
- Pending sales were up by 6.4%
Sonoma County
- Inventory was up by 43.1%
- Sales were up by 1.7%
- Pending sales were up by 17.9%
These latest figures reinforce the now widely-held opinion that buyers are more accepting of current mortgage rates and many have given up waiting for a significant rate-drop, on the basis that none seems likely in the short-term and one can only put life goals on hold for so long.
It all adds up to a pretty positive outlook for the busiest time in the real estate year and the significant increases in inventory of available homes really is a great incentive, offering buyers the better choice they crave.
